10 Must Have Wellness Products
Top 10 Wellness Products
The wellness movement is exponentially growing and for good reason.
Research has shown that many chronic diseases such as: autoimmune disorders, thyroid disease, depression, anxiety, and digestive issues, along with ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s and Autism respond well to dietary changes, increased nutrients, and alternative medicine and therapies.
I’ve compiled a list of some of the best wellness products available on Amazon to assist you in attaining and sustaining the best health you can. Let this be your year of fabulous health.
1. Probiotics
Probiotics top my list of must-haves. It is the one supplement I won’t go without. Most of the foods we eat are filled with toxins, chemicals, fillers, and void of nutrition. This affects our gut flora and reduces the good bacteria that are necessary for keeping our immune system strong.
Research has shown a strong connection between gut bacteria and chronic disease, including mental health, autoimmune disorders, and healthy weight. A good probiotic should offer at least 5 billion CFU and at least 7 different strains of bacteria and be made without toxins and unnecessary fillers.
Garden of Life is one of my favorite brands when it comes to probiotics. They use organic, nonGMO, whole-food ingredients.
2. Diffuser & Essential Oils
A diffuser softly disperses essential oils as a fine mist to produce therapeutic and beneficial aromas. Essential oils have been shown in research to aid inflammation, promote sleep, eliminate odors naturally, elevate mood, reduce stress, anxiety and more. Essential oils are natural and free of chemicals (as long as you purchase high-quality oils like these)
There are so many styles of diffusers to choose from, you can find one to suit your decor! Remember to use distilled water and clean it often with a vinegar-water solution to ensure you are never breathing mold or mildew.
Avoid mass-produced air fresheners (candles and room spray also) like those bought at the grocery store or large chain retailers. Most of these products contain unhealthy toxins and chemicals. Anybody who is diagnosed with a chronic disease should decrease their exposure to toxins and chemicals.
Check out these high-quality essential oils by Ancient Apothecary as well!
3. Magnesium Lotion
Most American’s who eat a standard American diet (a diet lacking in nutrient-filled foods) are deficient in magnesium; another supplement I won’t go without. Adequate amounts of magnesium help with insomnia, mood (stress and anxiety), and helps alleviate muscle pain (leg cramps!). It can help boost energy, assist in keeping blood sugar regulated, help lower blood pressure, and can help fight fatigue.
Taking a magnesium supplement is necessary for most people who have chronic disease unless you eat plenty of leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and legumes. One way to ensure proper absorption is through the skin. I’ve been using a magnesium lotion for years and love it.
Ancient Minerals is one of my favorite brands when it comes to magnesium lotion.
4. Light Therapy Lamp
A light therapy lamp is a must for people who live, where for a good portion of the year, the sun is hidden more than it is visible or for those who have seasonal affective disorder. I must make a disclaimer though and state that I personally have yet to use one, but I’ve decided to try it during the long winter months. As of writing this blog, the sun has not made an appearance for 11 days here in Chicago. Light therapy lamps can help with depression, sleep issues, and other conditions.
When choosing a light therapy lamp, be sure that it is an exposure to 10,000 lux of light and emits no UV light.
5. Vitamin B12 (and folate)
Two of the more prevalent deficiencies today are Vitamin B12 and folate. Common reasons for this are factory farming (animals not fed on pasture no long have adequate amounts of B12) , MTHFR gene mutation, alcohol abuse, or vegan diet. B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, anxiety, cognitive issues, memory loss, anemia, and/or numbness or tingling in hands or feet.
I learned years ago that I don’t properly methylate B12 due to MTHFR gene mutation. This led to high homocysteine levels (which can lead to heart disease). A simple solution for me was a high-quality B12/folate supplement. It is important to take the natural form, methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin in sublingual or lozenge form and avoid the synthetic form, cyanocobalamin for optimal absorption
This supplement brand is one of my favorites. Especially when it comes to a B12/folate supplement.
6. Protein Superfoods Powder
Protein powder is an awesome addition to smoothies, baked goods, protein balls and more. If you are one of the many people who aren’t getting enough nutrients from you daily foods, adding a good supplemental powder can really boost you intake. Nutrients are often overlooked but are essential for having a powerful immune system.
This is one of my favorite brands and flavors. Yum!
7. Natural Fluoride-Free Toothpaste
Staying away from conventional toothpaste is another great way to keep toxins and chemicals out of your body. It used to be nearly impossible to find a toothpaste that was fluoride-free and made without toxic ingredients.
I’m not a fan of mint and found out at an early age that I could not tolerate fluoride in any form. Not to mention that fluoride has no place in our bodies. For those of you dealing with chronic disease, minimizing the number of chemicals and toxins you come in contact with is essential for your health.
Here are two of my favorites. These are both made with simple basic ingredients and no chemicals. And it also comes in mint for all the rest of you!
8. Humble Deodorant
I love, love, love this deodorant. It is small batch made, aluminum-free, and made with only a few ingredients that are all safe. The scents are also amazing. Conventional deodorants are filled with chemicals and toxins including aluminum. Keeping toxic ingredients out of our bodies is essential when dealing with chronic diseases. A body will struggle to heal if it is constantly inundated with toxins.
I first stumbled upon this brand in, of all places, TJ Maxx. But when I can’t get it there (a little cheaper I might add), I’m glad I can usually find it on Amazon.
9. Fitness Tracker
I’ve tried a few phone app fitness trackers and they were OK. So, in my search to find something better, I started asking questions and doing some research. First, the benefits of a fitness tracker are plentiful; from tracking heart rate to sleep tracking to reminders and notifications. My fellow health coaches love their fitness trackers and have mentioned how well it keeps them motivated, accountable, and on track with their health goals.
These are not only Amazon’s top-ranked fitness trackers but will fit any budget.
10. CBD Oil
My final top 10 list is one of my favorites: CBD oil has been shown to have tremendous benefits, in both studies and anecdotal evidence in helping with pain and/or anxiety. It shouldn’t be regarded as a fad or health trend but rather as a complement to conventional medicine. Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system with CB1 and CBD2 receptors throughout the body. CBD oil interacts with these receptors to produce an effective outcome.
I have had considerable success with CBD oil in terms of pain! It is safe and has zero to .3% psychoactive properties (no THC). I sell an extensive collection of brands of CBD oil; everything from tinctures, to capsules, to edibles and even CBD for your beloved pets! I sell only the best, high quality, top brands. It is important that the CBD oil you choose is made of high-quality ingredients with access to the Certificate of Analysis (COA).
